A person’s cognitive ability is a powerful predictor of their future work performance and how suitable they are for the job.
Research shows that cognitive aptitude is one of the most accurate predictors of job success: twice as predictive as job interviews, three times as predictive as experience, and four times as predictive as education level. More than 100 years of research has clearly shown cognitive ability to be the single most powerful predictor of performance on the job, across all roles, industries and management levels. Candidates will complete a set of up to 50 questions that measure their verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning ability. The Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT) is a dynamic assessment that draws on an item bank of thousands of individually optimised test items. This means that no two candidates will ever receive the same questions, giving you confidence in their individual results.
Proven construct and predictive validity.
The CCAT has been extensively validated, demonstrating that the test is highly predictive of job performance for a wide variety of jobs. Norms for the CCAT were developed using a sample of almost one thousand working adults aged 18 and older, representing a mixture of individuals from over 50 companies. Since the original norms for the CCAT were created, the CCAT has been administered over 5 million times.
The CCAT has been shown to be highly correlated to other leading measures of cognitive aptitude. Various studies have shown that CCAT results correlate significantly with job performance for a wide variety of jobs, but it is an especially effective predictor of performance for jobs that require enhanced abilities in the areas of problem-solving, learning, critical thinking, and verbal and mathematical reasoning.
